And So It Begins (Again)

I know it is not necessary to start on a Monday but it was just a good place to start! My only child moved out on the weekend, so I'm on my own and don't have to think about his needs and wants unless he is at home (which I hope will be often!).

My first goal is 5 kilos just so I can get down below a certain weight but I don't want to begin by focusing on weight loss. I weighed myself and measured my waist today just so I can look back at where I started. There are some changes that I want to make and I'm going start with them. First is eating a piece of fruit every day. Though I like most fruits, I tended just to eat them when my son was around and not when I was on my own.

Second is not buying potato chips. I went almost 3 years without buying them. I made the provision that if my two favourite flavours came here, I could buy them, never thinking that they would. Well guess what happened! And so I started eating all of the other flavours that I'd hadn't had for years. I'm not going to say no if I'm offered any, but because that seldom happens, I don't think it will be a problem.

The last thing for now is keeping a food journal. I've tried in the past but usually forgot about it within a few days. I'm not going to keep track of amounts or anything but just what and when I eat. If I can keep it up then I'll think about adding more to the journal.
